Attic Insulation.
One of the highest-impact comfort upgrades for many Florida homes.

In our climate, the attic is where comfort goes to die. Florida sun bakes the roof deck all day, attic air pushes well past 130°F, and any insulation that's thin, settled, or aging gives up under the heat. The result is a power bill that climbs every summer and a thermostat that won't quit. The good news: attic insulation is one of the highest-impact upgrades for many homes in Manatee and Sarasota counties.

  • Stops AC strain so your system runs less and lasts longer
  • Evens out hot rooms (especially upstairs and over the garage)
  • Lowers power bills. The EPA estimates ~15% on heating & cooling
  • Quieter home, since insulation absorbs outside sound
  • Often pays for itself in 2 to 4 years with savings and available rebates

Most of our work is in existing homes

Most of our work is not new construction. We help existing homeowners decide whether their attic should be topped off, vacuumed out, or fully reset with new blown-in insulation.

Florida's recommended attic R-value

Florida sits in U.S. DOE climate zone 2. The recommended attic R-value for our region is R-30 to R-49, with R-38 being the most common upgrade target for existing single-family homes. We measure your existing R-value at the assessment so the new install hits the right number, not just "more than what's there."

How the project actually goes

  1. Free assessment. A tech inspects your attic, photographs trouble spots, measures existing R-value, and looks for moisture, pests, and ductwork issues that need to be handled before insulation.
  2. Written quote on the spot. You get an itemized proposal during the in-home inspection: material, R-value, square footage, and a fixed total. No mystery line items.
  3. Removal (if needed). If the existing insulation is contaminated, settled, or rodent-affected, we vacuum it out cleanly first.
  4. Ventilation protection. We install baffles where needed so soffit-to-ridge venting stays clear and your attic can breathe before we blow.
  5. Install. Most attics are blown to spec in 3 to 5 hours. Cellulose, fiberglass, or rock wool depending on your home and goals.
  6. Walkthrough & warranty. You get before/after photos and a written workmanship warranty.

Choosing the right material

What it costs

Most Sarasota and Bradenton attic insulation projects fall between $1,500 and $4,500 depending on home size, existing condition, and whether old insulation needs to be removed first. Many projects qualify for rebates or incentives, and we work with you during the assessment to find the best options for your home. Rebates, incentives, and financing vary by program, address, home configuration, and credit approval.

FAQ

Attic Insulation questions, answered.

Do I need to remove my old attic insulation first?

Sometimes. If your existing insulation is dry, clean, and in good shape, we can often top it off (called over-blowing). If it's water-damaged, contaminated by pests, or compressed below useful R-value, we vacuum it out first so the new install performs to spec.

How long does an attic insulation job take?

Most attic-only projects are completed in a single day. Larger homes or jobs that require removal-then-reinstall can stretch to two days.

Will I really notice a difference?

Yes. Most homeowners notice cooler upstairs rooms within the first few days, and a lower power bill on the next billing cycle. You should also notice your AC running fewer, shorter cycles.

Are there rebates for attic insulation in Florida?

Often, yes. Programs and amounts change by area and season. At your free assessment we walk through what may apply to your home and help you compare options so you can make a clear decision.
